For one very special night, Korean Rising Star Pianist Seong Jin Cho, Gold Medalist of the 2015 Chopin Piano Competition, will perform a benefit performance with the Washington Chamber Orchestra. Concert proceeds will support the Washington Chamber Orchestra Endowment, ensuring its mission in the future, “Making Classical Music More Accessible to Everyone in the Community.” The concert includes Seongjin Cho, performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1, the piece he played in the final round of the Chopin Competition. WCO will open the concert with Beethoven Egmont Overture and Dvořák Czech Suite.
*Seong-Jin Cho was invited to replace Lang Lang to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra's Tour in Four Cities, including Berlin, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Seoul in November. The Washington Chamber Orchestra's original concert date is one of the Seong-Jin's U.S Concerts that conflicts with the Berlin Philarmonic Concert dates. To support his musical career, Washington Chamber Orchestra has agreed to postpone the concert. [see Seong-Jin's Letter to WCO]
